1st Masters B Male Kata

Special Recognition:  Chosen to lead Sunshine Coast team in opening ceremony

“I am dedicated and passionate about my karate training with only two more successful gradings to reach my goal of becoming a black belt.

I am thrilled with the bonding experience I share with my son Bailey who also trains at Chito Ryu Karate.

I am a chef and love making delicious meals for Meals on Wheels Maroochydore (Suncare), where I enjoy giving back to our community.”

2023 Soke cup in review

1.  What was your favourite thing(s) about the whole Soke Cup experience?

I enjoyed the whole time from training in the Sohonbu, the international training before the cup and meeting the karate family in Japan from all over the world.

2.  What did you learn from the experience?

Trust in the training and our coaches. Even though the nerves were there I had the confidence in the training I had done.

3.  If you were to do it all again, what would you do differently?

Not get injured. I can’t think of much else. Share the experience with my son Bailey competing as well.

4.  What would you say to those who might have their eye on the next Soke Cup?

Go for it. Train hard, set goals, listen to the coaches and the ones who have been before. The whole experience is magnificent.
