Welcome to the Sunshine Coast squad for the 2026 Soke Cup. We are really excited to be working with you towards this event and we can't wait to see how you develop over the next 16 months as we help you prepare.

15th International Soke Cup - 2026

Soke Cup: Thursday 13th - Saturday 15th August 2026Venue: Gold Coast Sport and Leisure Centre – 296 Nerang Broadbeach Road, Carrara.

Just so that you can start looking ahead, If you are selected on the team, please be prepared to be on the Gold Coast for the week commencing Mon 10 Aug until after the Soke Cup has concluded. It is recommended that all team members stay in the same location (for ease of communication) and team training. As we get closer to the event, we will discuss possible accommodation arrangements.

Weekly Check-In Sessions

Weekly check-in sessions have now commenced. All squad members are expected to attend at least one of these sessions each week.

Mon AND/OR Wed 5:30-6:00pm
Tue AND/OR Thur 7:30-8:00pm

These sessions will mostly be utilised to help you learn and develop your basics and kata for competition (including kobujutsu). These sessions are especially important for junior competitors who are still learning the kata they will need to compete at the Soke Cup.

Inter-Region Squad Training Session - More Information

We have been co-ordinating with instructors from other regions to have some combined Soke Cup Squad training sessions to help give our local squad greater exposure to other teachers and the opportunity to train with other Australian students working towards the Soke Cup.
